The Walls Surrounding Our Lives Well, my first blog. Didn't really have much to say, but I figured I would give it a shot. =) Hmm, I never really realized how many things a plain ol' wall could represent until today (Thanks Chey :) ( L ) At first, a wall looks like... well a wall. But think about it, and you'll realize what they can be to others. To some, walls act as a form of security. One feels safe behind the confinement of their room because the walls protect them from everything outside. Or, walls can mean the opposite. Walls can act as a barrier that keep us from being in contact with everyone else. Walls also teach us the meaning of rules and boundaries. When in trouble, we are confined and find ourselves surrounded by walls. They teach us limits that they have on our freedom. They teach us that when we do something wrong, they will be there to make sure we can't escape. On a brighter note, walls can represent trust. One may build a wall of trust and in order to gain their trust, one must "climb" over. I quote, "I've built this wall of trust not to block people out, but to see who cares about me enough to climb on over." This is how I am/used to be. I wouldn't really trust anyone until they did something quite drastic to prove that they cared about how I feel ( you people know who you are =D). At times, walls may seem to be the only thing to take our anger out on, so we punch and kick them, only to hurt ourselves more. Walls express themselves in a way and create a sense of mood for us. In a room of gray walls, one feels depressed and gloomy, because the walls are expressing that feeling. In my kitchen, the walls present a nice, cafe feeling (one day you guys will see it and understand :P). Lastly, walls may act as a way to comfort one's self. When one feels like they need time to themselves, the only things around them no matter where they are, are walls. They hear and see every feeling we experience in our lives. So next time you think of doing something wrong, know that "someone" is always watching... Unless you're outside. =P Matty |
The Moving Finger Writes.. "The writing is on the wall. And it's all about my opinion and my feelings. Don't complain about it, you made the choice of reading it. If you are wondering, the title just means that whatever one does in their life is their own responsibility and cannot be changed."
